This
group of fine art landscapes is presented in roughly chronological
order.
South
Shore Seascape resulted
from a biweekly trip along the southeast expressway from Boston
to Brockton,
MA. I tried to get the effect of moving through the scene.
Icicled
Monadnock was painted in the early 60s when my palette was very
muted and often monochromatic
Many
of the others were the result of studying the Hudson River painters
in the 70s with Prof John Driscoll, an authority on this
unique American school of painters. We visited museums throughout
New England studying these works. I had not studied these
at
Yale which had
ignored the American School in their art history courses,
concentrating on Europe and the eastern styles.
